In the reality where Jon as a human didn't exist the stone naturally couldn't end up in his hands. Instead it was Zoe, who got the stone as a gift from her grandfather. So far she was too sceptical to actually try to use it but now she really wished the things grandpa wrote to her were true.
The thing was that her boyfriend probably wanted to end this evening as the last time he took her out - in the bed.
