The stone flashed, indicating that Jon's wish had been granted. But after it did, Jon watched his room morph and change around him. When it was done, he feared that maybe the stone may have turned him into someone else or even into a girl. But, checking himself, he was relieved to see that he was still himself. But why did his bedroom look different? It wasn't really his belongings that were different, though. It was the room itself. It was almost like his bedroom was in a different house or something.
Jon left his room to see what else had changed. The hallway leading to the stairs definitely looked different too. There was no question now. He was in a different house. But why?
Because dinner was just about ready, Jon went downstairs and to the kitchen, figuring that with his family gathering to eat, that would be a good opportunity to see how his own family had changed. It would be weird to see his dad married to two women.
Two women were preparing dinner. One was his mother, the other was Karyn's. That could only mean that Karyn, his best friend, was now his half sister! How would this change his relationship with her? He would soon find out, as the rest of his family sat down at the table: his brother Mikey, his sister Zoe and his new half-sister Karyn. Then lastly, his dad walked in and kissed his two wives. "How are my favorite girls?"
"Wonderful," said Jon's mom as the two of them snuggled close to their husband. "We're in the mood for a little 'fun' tonight, if you're willing."
Their husband kissed them again. "I'm always in the mood for you two."
During this whole conversation, Jon could do nothing but stare. It wasn't his dad. It was someone else's. That's why the house was different. It was this guy's house.
