Jon went down to the kitchen. Two men were there, his dad and Karyn's. Now that being gay was normal, their dads must be married in this world. He wondered if his mom and Karyn's would be married to each other. He would have to go over to her house to find out. Karyn's dad was finishing up dinner while Jon's dad set the table.
"Hey, Jon," Jon's dad said. "I was just about to tell you that dinner was ready."
"I'll get Zoe and Mikey," said Karyn's dad, as he set the last of the food on the table. Apparently Zoe and Mikey were still his siblings in this world. He suddenly felt awkward about meeting a gay Mikey and lesbian Zoe. Mikey was eight, though in this reality he would be discovering boys rather than girls in a few years.
The two of them came down and appeared to be the same. Zoe was still a goth and Mikey was still an ordinary eight year old boy. It was hard to tell how much had changed along with their new sexual orientations, but he figured that he could watch and find out.
As they sat down and began eating, Karyn's dad asked Jon, "You're still going out with Pete this Friday?" Pete was in a few of Jon's classes at school. Jon and Pete had seen each other naked in gym class and Pete was handsome, without being increadibly good looking. Jon blushed and said yes. Jon knew what that meant and had a hard time imagining his dad having sex, much less with another man, particularly when that man was his best friend's father. "So please keep it down to a dull roar, alright?"
Jon's dads apparently had a healthy sexual relationship, as evidenced by the moans and quiet talking that went on late that night. Jon fell asleep wondering what Karyn would be like as a lesbian. He would have to wait until morning to find out.
