Jon ran into Zoe. "About time you got out," she said. "Why do boys always take so long in the bathroom? It can't take that long to pee."
"At least you can stand up to pee," Jon retorted. "You don't have to sit down every time." It was only after Zoe went into the bathroom that he realized the full significance of what he had said. He learned that since this was the way things had always been to most people, penises were considered "female" sexual organs and vaginas were considered "male," Thus Jon was still a male and Zoe was still a female and still his sister, rather than his brother. However, because men were now the biological mothers, they were called Mom and women, because they were now the fathers were called dad. Feminine and masculine pronouns stayed the same as they were before.
Jon wondered if this would affect his relationship with Karyn. As he left the house to wait for Karyn so they could go to school, he figured there was only one way to find out.
