Jon ran into his Dad. His Dad (or would that be Mom?) was heading towards the bathroom, his hands caressing a large bulge beneath a shirt that said "Baby of Board." "Is the bathroom empty?" asked Jon's Dad. When Jon said yes, his Dad replied, "Good. It seems like I've spent all my time in the bathroom since I got pregnant. I mean, I love being a mother, and I love being pregnant, but it will be good to finally give birth. Remember, the due date is any day now, so you'll have to be the Mom while I'm gone and help out your father."
The sight of his pregnant father was surreal, but Jon improvised. "Is the baby going to be a boy or a girl?"
"A girl," said his Dad. "So Zoe will be happy. She'll have another girl to talk to and won't have to listen to another family member talk about girls, his period, or how many babies he wants to have." With that, Jon's Dad went into the bathroom. Jon made a quick wish, "I wish that I knew what other consequences my wish had." The stone flared and Jon had his answer.
Men and women were still considered the gender that they had been before, as vaginas were now considered "male" sexual organs and penises were considered "female." So Jon was still a boy, Zoe was a girl and still his sister, rather than his brother. Men were still referred to by male pronouns and women by female pronouns. However, since men gave birth, his Dad was now his biological mother and was referred to as Mom, while his Mom was now his biological father and was referred to as Dad. The man who was now his Mom was a stay at home mother who worked from home so he could spend time with his children, while his Dad (who had been his mom) worked outside the home. Men working at home so they could also raise children while their wives worked outside the home also appeared to be fairly normal.
Feeding the babies had changed as well. Men, who did not develop breasts, fed their babies from a bottle, while women still did the actual nursing. Apparently, at least in Jon's house, his Dad ("Mom" Jon thought. This would take some getting used to) bottle-fed the children during the day, while his Mom (now Dad) breast-fed them after she came home from work. Clothing, other than underwear, had changed little.
From a personal standpoint, he still had the same number of brothers and sisters, with the exception of the one growing in his father/mother's womb, though imagining Zoe with a penis and Matt and Mikey with vaginas was almost as surreal as seeing it in his parents. Jon decided to head out to see how Karyn had changed when he ran into...
