The wishing stone glowed. And when the light dissipated, Jon saw that he was in his parents' bedroom.
Except, it looked a lot different. It looked like a man had lived there, and Jon's mother never had.
He looked down at himself. Jon was still a guy. But he was a lot older. At least twenty years older. He thought that switching with his mom would make him his mom, but apparently not.
He didn't want to spend the rest of his life as a parent. (Jon had thought about it, but he was still in high school! It wasn't fair to lose twenty years of his life.) He had to get the stone to fix all of this. But at the moment, he decided to look around his "new" bedroom, just out of curiosity.
As he was looking around, the door opened. Jon's dad came in, and went over to Jon and kissed him--which Jon found bizarre. Then Jon looked around and noticed a picture. It used to be Mom and Dad, with Jon as a child. But the picture had changed. Now Jon and his mother's roles were reversed. The picture showed two men together--Jon and his father--and a female child.
"What's the matter, hon?" said Jon's dad. "Is our daughter still complaining about being grounded?"
"Uh..." said Jon. He really didn't know what to do at all.
