He decided to take a walk and peer at his family members in a new light, observing things that now made sense to him. The intricacies of the relationship that his mom had with his dads were now obvious and simple. He understood their position in life and his mother's role. She carried herself just as assuredly as he did, and while they both didn't compete for territory as he lived under her roof and didn't want his dads as mates, there was always the threat that a fight could start between them. That threat bred respect, not hostility. They each had power, yet commanded it. They didn't need to wield it all the time like the weak do. Power was simply there. You could tell it was there and feel it.
He then went to his sister Zoe's room. He hadn't really talked to or seen her since the change, but hearing his mother previously talk about her having the gene for being a lead intrigued him. He opened her door abruptly and walked into her room. She was sitting there being cuddled by her men, listening to her dark music. Jon recognized her three boyfriends as her classmates and friends, though they looked significantly different now. All of them had piercings and tattoos, they were goths now too. Each of them had the same choker, a symbol of being owned by Zoe. It made things simpler when your followers were broadcasting that they were taken.
"What do you want?" Zoe nearly growled at Jon. He hadn't respected her privacy and just entered her room. Yet Jon was a lead. He didn’t care too much about such small slights, only making sure not to start fights by continuing to antagonize her.
"Mom wants to know what you want for dinner." Jon grunted. In their house, only Jon, Zoe and their mother Linda decided on dinner. The others would rather defer to their judgement and never wanted to make the decision themselves.
"Mexican." Zoe urged his boyfriends to continue groping him while locking eyes with her older brother.
"Good choice." Jon agreed and left her to her playtime. That was interesting. Zoe had a little more respect for me than I do for her just because I was older and able to drive her around. Yet at the same time we were closer to the same level compared to our mom, who ruled the house as her domain.
It was hard to explain, based on what the previous Jon knew. It wasn't like they were tense like that all the time. It was just a confidence and persistence to what they wanted that let them get through their days their way. Jon and Linda were kind and cordial even about it, having long learned to be a lead without shifting their weight around, even verbally like Zoe had done. She was still young, and maturing as a lead. In time she would learn to lead with little force used as possible for the least resistance from others to maximize her own ends.
Jon shook his head. He looked and viewed people differently now. He knew that if he was alone in the house with his dads he would run roughshod over them in a way that would never be possible with his dad before the wish. Heck Zoe could do the same thing.
Now Jon was wondering what to do about the stone. He could easily enhance himself to be one of the greatest and strongest leads ever. With the impact of his previous wish on his mind, there was no reason not to. He wanted something and he had the power to take it. That was all he needed to know.
"I wish..."
