Jon sat there with his hand out as if he was going to take it from her, but couldn't bring himself to. He was apprehensive as she seemed to have a face of recognition and then tears started to stream down her face silently.
"Jon, what's my name?" Her eyes were closed, unable to look at Jon for fear of knowing the truth.
Jon couldn't answer her because she hadn't existed before. The silence was all she needed to know, however. She audibly gulped, her lower lip quivering at this point.
"You know my twin sister's name but not mine." She stated. Ice was on her breath as her words seemed to cut Jon accusingly. "I never existed until just a moment ago."
Jon couldn't say anything but tilted her head up by the chin and kissed her on the lips. She let out a gasp and melted, her arms swinging up and around his neck, nearly hugging him before she stopped herself and pulled back.
"We've never dated before, have we?" She looked Jon in the eyes. They shimmered with tears pleading Jon to contradict any assumption she had.
"No." Jon admitted. "But for a pretty girl like you, I'd make a million wishes for you to exist, and for us to be together."
He was desperately trying to be smooth now. Not only was she holding the stone but he didn't want to upset Karyn. Seeing her twin sister crying broke something in Jon. His crush on Karyn ran deeper than he had ever felt for someone, and he was only just now realizing.
"You just want Karyn." She looked away sullenly. She could tell by his eyes that they didn't look at her with the same desire that they had before. It wasn't fair. She had just gained a boyfriend as soon as she existed, and yet she had lost a long-term boyfriend and had to start from scratch again with him. She couldn't just dump him, because Karyn would still be his, pulling her back into a relationship with him. She was stuck. None of this was fair. Love wasn't supposed to hurt from a wish.
"Why would I wish for more of her if I just wanted her?" Jon gave her a smile. That either sounded selfish or romantic. Maybe both?
"Oh yeah?" She grew a wicked grin. "How many sisters of Karyn were you hoping for?" She chuckled through her ragged breath and began to smile again, though her makeup was ruined. She wiped away a tear and realized that she had mascara on her fingers.
"I wish that makeup never got messed up, it was either applied or taken off." She said with finality, then realized that she made a wish with a blush and offered the stone back to Jon.
"Thank you." Jon smirked at her, finding her a more typically feminine and cuter Karyn. Karyn was definitely pretty and a great friend, but her sister had a different personality and attractiveness to her that made Jon wonder about how the new Karyn behaved. Jon took the stone from her with a warm feeling of attraction and newfound appreciation for the girl in front of him. She seemed pleased with his gaze on her.
"There you are." She whispered to herself. "That's my Jon."
"I'm not going anywhere." Jon caressed her face. "And neither are you." He said with finality and determination.
"I'm Katlyn. Kate for short." She leaned forwards and kissed Jon. "I'm Karyn's twin, and your girlfriend. Nice to finally meet you."
Jon and Kate rushed at embracing each other and started to kiss and make-out for a while. They lost track of time as they enjoyed the loving embrace.
