The make-up artists worked quickly and Jon's face was soon as seductive as his clothes. He was then shuffled to a group of women looking bored. Only one looked up as Jon approached and smiled. The rest of them ignored him.
“Hey Crystal, rough night?“ she said. Jon only nodded, studying each of them in turn. These women had also been on the poster beside Crystal. His bandmates. What were their names? Zoe probably had mentioned them at some point but he couldn't remember.
His manager appeared again and said, “Get ready in 30 seconds.“
Instantly, the boredom of his bandmates vanished to be replaced by choreoraphed smiles and seductive glances. Seconds later, a loud voice boomed from outside.
“And now, the moment you have been waiting for. Please welcome, Velvet Roadkill!“ The cheers of the crowd deafened everything and the manager gestured for you to go.
The women started walking outside one by one and Jon followed. They walked on a big stage with a massive crowd before it. Jon knew this band was popular but not this popular.
He could only stare at the mass if people until the woman that had talked to him earlier nudged him. He was momentarily confused but soon realized that he was supposed to be waving and smiling. Yeah, he could do that.
The loud voice over the speakers returned. “The lucky winners have been chosen and each winner will now get to meet his or her favorite member of the band.“
Oh great...
The women made their way off the stage and Jon was glad to follow. The lucky winners were already standing ready for their personal meet-and-greet. To his surprise, he knew someone in the group.
