The next day, Jon and Jen went to school. They each had copies of the same notes; in fact, just about everything except for clothes that they had was identical, apparently by pure coincidence. At the end of the school day, they quickly left the campus and made for home. They really didn't want to meet anyone who knew Jen, considering that Jon was only a boy until the previous night.
They were sitting in their room, on their beds, staring awkwardly at each other, until the doorbell rang.
"Crap," said Jon. "I forgot Karyn was going to come over to study..."
"Well," said Jen, "I think we'd better explain to her what's going on."
"Hi, people," said Karyn. "It's going to be a nasty trig test. We need to review the first two chapters again."
"Yeah, we do," said Jen, "but there's something else we need to review first. How long have you known us?"
"I don't get it," said Karyn. "Ever since we were kids. Around twelve years."
"Well, think of everything you remember about me," said Jen. "It was just a wish."
"Huh?" said Karyn. "You mean that I'm not really your friend or something? Some kind of mind control? But you'd never use the stone like that...."
"No," said Jon. "What she means is that I'm Jon. I was your friend since we were kids. I used the stone to make a wish that turned me into two people, Jon and Jen. We're really both the same person. We're not twins. You just remember there always being two of us, but there really weren't!"
"I'm not sure I believe you," said Karyn, "but what wish was it?"
"I, er..." Jon and Jen both blushed.
Jon finally blurted it out. "I wished that I could have sex with myself. And I wished that the other me would enjoy it."
"But you're brother and sister! You can't..."
"We don't remember being that way," said Jon. "We really aren't. We're the same person. It would just be masturbation. It's all magic, anyway, we could wish there was some other reason why there were two of us instead of being brother and sister. Anyway, we never did anything with each other. Jen just isn't attracted to me."
"Wow, what a big problem," said Karyn. "I can't believe that you didn't really lose the money I lent you for ice cream..."
"That really happened," said Jon, "but it was just one of me who lost it. And besides, we paid you back later anyway!"
"I can't believe that I never really lent my clothes to Jen..."
"That never happened at all!" said Jen.
"Well," said Karyn, it looks like you have a choice. Either you could stay as brother and sister, or you could wish there's some other reason why there's two of you, or I suppose you could change yourself further... and as for the sex... there's no way I'm giving you any advice about that while you're brother and sister."
"What would you suggest, Karyn?" asked Jon.
"Well...."
