I turned around to go home when suddenly I felt a sharp, stinging pain JOLT itself from the back of my head down through my spine. I felt the ground smash into my face as my mind quickly faded off into nothingness.
That was all I remembered.
I awoke in my room lying on my bed in my pajamas. I tried to recall what had happened but for some reason I couldn't remember anything about yesterday's events. I checked my pants pockets for the rock but it wasn't there. I decided that I probably lost it.
For some reason the fact that I had lost the rock didn't bother me at all. In the back of my mind it seemed like something I should be concerned about but oddly enough, I found myself feeling the exact opposite. I wasn't worried at all! In fact, I felt happy that I had lost it. I wouldn't be burdened with the stress and responsibility of possessing the most powerful object in the world. I could go back to living a normal life.
I jumped out of bed, got dressed, and went downstairs. My mom had made breakfast for me and she was setting everything on the table.
"Good morning sweetie," she said with a warm smile,"remember to dress nice today for school."
"Why?" I asked.
"Honey! Don't you remember? Today everyone in town is worshipping Karyn!"
