Meanwhile in the town landfill one of the vagrants was digging through the trash for anything of value. In one trash bag he found a shiny stone. He gave a sigh of disappointment and said "I wish I could find something edible instead." as he tossed down the stone a look of shock came over him as a freshly cooked steak dinner appeared on a platter before him. Frenticly he looked for the stone he dropped, then after finding it he preceeded to start eating the best meal he had in years.
Meanwhile Jon was talking to Karen when an odd feeling went through him, a sort of shiver went through his spine, he felt an odd tug as if something was pulling at him gently, and his glow flickered in that direction. Then just as quickly it was gone.
"what was that?" Karen asked.
"I have no clue" Jon said. "I felt a similar shiver down my spine a few days back but i never thought of it as the whole thing was still very weird to me. besides between Mikeys change and the stone being lost I was too distracted to think about it. This time it was almost like a tug."
"maybe next time you can look for what was tugging you" Karyn said. "but now we have the disease to unpuzzle."
"an odd thought crossed my mind" Karyn said. "Could Mikeys wish to get the disease be what made it worse? I mean he wished he could get the disease and get it over with. but if he had it before and didn't change he'd never know."
"I hope not, besides how would it explain both of us getting permanent changes before Mikey made his wish?" Jon said.
"A coincidence?", Karyn suggested. "Maybe the only one."
"If only I had the stone to find out" Jon said.
