Karyn was sitting at the counter having her third pancake of the morning when she heard the phone go off. “Jon finish your breakfast first before answering that” Linda Madison told her stand in son. Karyn had only been living Jon’s life for a few days but she knew better than to disobey Jon’s mom.
So five minutes later when she had finished her orange juice she went to pick up the phone.
I am glad I don’t need to watch my figure this week she thought to herself. That fourth pancake would be Jon’s to work off, she thought with a small smile. She unlocked the phone to see “New message from Karyn” at the top of the screen. This was what she had been dreading for the last few hours since the early hours of the morning. Karyn ran upstairs to Jon’s room before reading the message.
She sat down on the bed she had been sleeping in for the last few days and opened the message.
Please bring the stone to school. Need to make a quick wish. Need to find out a way of getting out of this wedding.
Karyn breathed a large sigh of relief after reading the message. There was nothing about Jon’s new chest and hair. The products of early morning wish. “I am sorry Jon I will make it up to you” Karyn said softly when thinking about what she had done to her friend with her latest wish. She opened Jon’s hiding place to reveal the stone which she then placed in Jon’s bag. She then grabbed the jacket that was hanging on the back off the door and headed downstairs. “See you later Mom” she said as she opened the front door and headed to school.
