The Fantastic Desires building was about the size of a restaurant, and was a good two minutes outside of town. The back side faced the wilderness of forest and grass. Karyn and Jon, though they had all the tools of a superspy at their disposal chose to drive to the building in an older Ford Taurus Jon wished up. They figured it would be better to not be seen at all than seen with high-tech gadgets. They parked the car on a back road half a klick away, and then walked the through the woods more quietly than ghosts.
Jon found a clearing with an excellent view of the back wall. A full sized van was parked their, and two guys were hoisting a large crate into the back of it. Jon knelt down and pulled out a sniper rifle and sighted the men.
"Jon, can I see the stone for a moment?" He nodded while focusing the lens, and Karyn deftly picked his pocket.
"I wish that Jon and I could reverse any magic spell placed on us."
"I thought we already covered that?"
Karyn shrugged, "Sort of. I just wanted to cover all the bases." As planned, she walked further away from the car and Jon, and after three or so minutes, began to walk toward the Fantastic Desires building. She came in from the east, and moonlight barely reflected off her. Jon scoped her and admired her skintight black suit. As she neared the building, he refocused on the van.
Karyn heard it several seconds before she saw it. Then she noted a faint shadow cast over her. She knelt down in the grass and kept her gaze on the building. Her hand played with some dirt. The shadow lunged, but Karyn was already up and throwing a clump of soil at his eyes.
The man shielded himself, and Karyn took advantage, breaking his tibia and throwing him to the ground in one swift motion.
"Nice try, though." She whispered. The man practically growled, and then his eyes glowed orange. Karyn felt a spell try to overtake her, she hesitated, and then allowed the spell to work.
Clever girl, Jon thought. As far as these people knew, Karyn was not immune to magic. She turned orange for a moment, and when the light faded, Karyn was . . .
