"I wish that Sarah McMillan see Vogon poetry everywhere, every title, every label, every app, every written word including her own."
Sarah unlocked her phone to text her best friend about her books when all words changed. She was still able to find the icon with the headset but she was unable to find her best friend's name. There was not a big difference between an illiterate person and Sarah. She was still able to write words but she had to remember what she had written. Every word changed immediately after she wrote the last character.
She showed the phone to her brother which was not the best idea.
Her brother scrolled the screen. "I thought that you have extra cheerleading practice on Wednesday and you have a date with Biff. I have to tell our parents. Why are you showing me this?"
Sarah grabbed her phone and she returned quickly to her room. She would be browsing social media but now she couldn't. She hoped that it was some drug causing her hallucinations and that tomorrow everything would be alright. She decided to exercise to improve her flexibility and to calm down. It helped but then she remembered the history test the following day. She couldn't learn. She wouldn't be able to read questions. She realized that she was going to be a high school drop-out. This was not the most scary part. She was afraid that she would depend on someone else for the rest of her life. Her career options shrank to nothing. She didn't want to be a porn actress. Maybe she could handle being a trophy wife but which men would like an ignorant woman like her as wife.
