Jon stared at his teacher Mr. Sullivan. On his lips was a coating of red lipstick! Was no one else seeing this? Jon looked around, and that's when he noticed a few boys in the room also had various shades of lipstick as well, but none of the girls. Everyone was acting as though nothing was out of the ordinary. But Jon knew better. This must have had something to do with his wish. Then another thought occurred to him. If all the boys were wearing lipstick, didn't that mean that he was too? He didn't have a mirror to check, so he reluctantly asked a boy sitting to his right (Jacob Mallory, his name was) what color his lipstick was.
Jacob whispered back that Jon's lipstick was "english rose". Then he asked Jon where he got it, because it looked nice on him, that he was thinking of buying some for himself. Jon just stared at him. Boys weren't supposed to wear lipstick, and they certainly never wanted to go out and buy some. "What?" Jacob whispered, wondering why Jon was looking at him like that.
"Mr. Gibson, Mr. Mallory, please stop talking and pay attention," the teacher said, annoyed that he was interrupted.
