Jon looked around. Nothing seemed strange, of course. Except for one thing... "Karyn, you're walking funny."
"I am? Hmm, I guess I am."
"No, seriously! It's as if you're not used to walking! But we've both been here for the past five years. How could you not know how to walk?"
"I'll give you a hint," said Karyn. "The way I'm walking really is a clue. In fact, I'll give you another hint. Your own wish was that we be moved to Barbados."
"Barbados? But that's impossible. Do you realize how far we are from Barbados now? It's certainly out of wish range."
"Don't be silly!" replied Karyn. "Jon, the stone is inside the area that's being moved. So you can move it any distance at all, and the stone's still there--you never leave the range no matter how far you move."
"So you're telling me that I wished to move us to Barbados?"
"Yup."
"But," said Jon, "I don't remember making a wish... Oh, I get it. Your wish must have also been a move. Since I think that we've been here all along, I'd have to forget any previous move."
"Right" said Karyn. "But you still don't have the whole answer..."
"Incredible," said Jon. He looked through the dome onto the nearly airless reddish sand and sky. "So you're walking funny because you're used to heavier gravity. Then we really haven't been on the Mars base all this time!"
