Karyn shook her head at her thought and then just said "I wish I knew if you really meant it and if you really do think it was wrong and you're not going to do it again."
Which ended the argument. It had to. Karyn had just wished that Jon wouldn't use the stone on Karyn against her will; there was no way Jon couldn't have meant it. Karyn felt a little disappointed that she no longer had a reason to be mad at Jon... but wasn't that why she wished it to begin with? She sighed, pressed the stone into Jon's hand, and walked off.
There still were some side effects of earlier wishes, though. For example, if Jon had been transformed into a girl by the stone, the stone would change reality as if she had always been a girl. She might have some dresses in her closet, and everyone would think that was normal. And she might have a boyfriend. One who remembered only the new reality and Jon as a girl.
In this case it was David who had been transformed, though partly. The stone changed reality as if he had always been female from the waist down... and so he did have dresses in his closet. And he had a boyfriend, too, who only remembered the new reality.
And the boyfriend happened to be Jon, once Jon became male again.
"Jon?" said David. "I'd really like to know what's going on. You and she are just friends. I know that. But you're going around talking about safewords and seeing her naked."
"It was just a prank," said Jon lamely. It wasn't really that different from looking at naked pictures of redheads and brunettes when you were going out with a blonde... which in fact he was. But Jon felt very apologetic and had no plans to do it again (after all, Karyn had wished that). "I wish you'd just forget it."
David and Jon each squinted at something. "Forget what?" asked David.
"Never mind," said Jon. "Oh, and I think the thong's cute."
