While "Rose" was getting set up, Jon heard his doorbell ring. He opened the door to find Tom Summers, one of his friends, standing on his front porch.
"Hey, Jon. I just wondered if you wanted to ..." He stopped and looked past Jon. "Dude! Is that who I think it is?" He walked into the house, sweeping Jon aside.
"Wait, Tom." Jon wanted to be alone for this.
"Wow! What a fuckin' hot babe!" he yelled in excitement.
Rose turned around and said "Are you here for the show too?"
"Fuck yeah!"
Jon ran over to him and then looked at Rose. "No, he's not. He's just leaving."
"No way. I wouldn't miss this for the world." Tom sat down on one of the living room sofas and said "Hey, Jon. Could you grab me a beer?"
"Fine," he said angrily. He was mad that his friend was messing this up for him. He walked into the kitchen, then thought of something. He had the stone. He could just wish Tom away and not have to deal with him. Then he'd have Karyn ... Rose ... all to himself.
Standing in the kitchen, Jon took the stone out of his pocket.
