What was Jon going to try the salt on first? He looked around his room, occasionally perusing some of the new items and descriptions that had just appeared there. Finally, his sight landed on his television, setting on top of his old desk.
He had had this same television for several years now. In fact, it was the kind of old-school TV with turn dials and a UHF setting that never worked. Fortunately, though, he had cable access to the TV, so he was still able to watch it like a normal person.
Jon fiddled with the salt shaker in his hand as he stepped toward the antiquated television, unsure exactly how much salt he should shake onto it. He concentrated on a mental picture of a new 30" flat screen HDTV with connected DVD and surround sound. He gave a few shakes of the container, allowing just a little salt to bounce around on the top.
Jon had to step back as the TV grew rapidly. He could hear cracking and see bits of wood flying around as his desk bowed and finally collapsed under the weight of the new television. The sound was definitely not quiet, and he worried whether anyone else heard it--it would be quite impressive if they had not.
The sound also made Jon think...did this transformation work like the stone? Did anyone not seeing him shake the salt always remember that the tv was a 30"? Or did they still remember the little 14" and would thus be very confused by both the crash and the sight of the new TV?
Jon pondered then whether to see if someone in his house would recognize the TV, to call Karyn, or to try out the salt some more.
