After Karyn and Zoe ripped away the paper door, they walked inside Jon's bedroom, but Jon wasn't there.
"Where the fuck did your stupid brother go?" Karyn asked.
"Looking for me?" Jon asked, from behind them.
Zoe spun around. "How the fuck did you get over there?"
Jon only smiled and lifted up his hand. In it was an antique pocket watch. He clicked it and suddenly, he disappeared.
Jon didn't have enough time to look for the stone, so he grabbed one of the magical items that littered his room instead. It was the Stopwatch of Transience, which, just like the name says, was a watch that freezes time. He figured that if Zoe couldn't catch him, then she couldn't use the salt on him. It turned out that it was a good idea, except for the fact that when he was in the "frozen world" he couldn't move anything, like everything was stuck in place. That meant that he couldn't take the shaker away from her, unless he resumed time. But he could still get away from her.
He walked around the two Goth girls, examining their frozen-in-place bodies. He touched Karyn's arm. It almost felt like touching plastic. It was very strange.
Jon wondered what to do next. Should he continue looking for the stone? He had all the time in the world now to do it. Or should he risk unfreezing time and try to grab the shaker from Zoe?
