After Karyn and Zoe ripped away the paper door, they walked inside Jon's bedroom, but Jon wasn't there.
"Where the fuck did your stupid brother go?" Karyn asked.
But Zoe didn't answer. She wasn't even listening. Her attention was fully focused on the multitude of magical items lying all around Jon's bedroom. It was like stumbling into a treasure trove. Where did all this stuff come from?
Zoe reached out to grab one of the items, when suddenly something knocked her backwards. She tripped and stumbled back into Karyn. "What the fuck was that?!" she yelled out in surprise.
Then the salt shaker rose up into the air, seemingly by itself. "I'll take that," a voice said. It belonged to Jon, but he was nowhere to be seen.
Jon didn't have enough time to look for the stone, so he grabbed one of the magical items that littered his room instead. It was the Cloak of Invisibility, which, just like the name says, was a cape that makes the user invisible. He figured that if Zoe couldn't see him, then she couldn't use the salt on him. It turned out that it was a good idea.
Immediately after retaking the shaker, he used it on Karyn. In no time at all, she changed from the gothic version of herself to a version that was closer to normal. She wouldn't be back to normal, of course. Instead she'd be the kind of Karyn that Jon desired her to be, which in this case was someone who had similar interests as him, but was also more pliant. He didn't want her to be submissive or anything like that, but it would have been nice if Karyn would do as Jon asked more often. Maybe she wouldn't have made her accidental wish. Although, Jon did like the results of her wish, even if she didn't. But he'd never tell her that.
Zoe looked up in shock at the girl who used to be her friend. Well, her friend for about five minutes. This girl had blond hair, slightly tanned skin, a pink halter top (which showed off her cleavage), a denim miniskirt, and pink open-toe three-inch heels. She seemed like a somewhat more preppy version of the original Karyn.
"Karyn," Jon said. "Take Zoe to her room and keep her there."
"Okay, Jon." She grabbed Zoe and pulled her into her room. Zoe put up quite a struggle, but Karyn managed to get her in there. Once inside, the door was pulled shut so Zoe wouldn't escape. Jon dumped some salt on the wood door and it turned into a large metal vault door, with a wheel on the hallway side, so they would be able to lock it from the outside. That should keep her out of their way.
Immediately after the door changed, they heard clanging noises and a muffled scream.
"Wow, she seems pissed," Karyn said.
"Yeah," Jon said, grabbing the invisibility cape that he was wearing, intending on taking it off and becoming visible again.
