After some thought, Jon decided to try again to convince Karyn to not join the cheerleading squad. She obviously wasn't in her right state-of-mind. And he was her friend. That should add some sort of weight to his opinion, right? Or maybe it didn't matter what he thought. Maybe the magic from the potion was too strong.
But he still had to try.
So, he followed her. Oddly, she was leaving the mall. He thought that she would try to approach Sarah again, but it seemed that she was heading somewhere else. Maybe she was going home?
But after he followed her onto Oak Street, he knew she wasn't heading home, because this was in the opposite direction. In fact, this was the way ... the way to his house.
Hold on, he thought. She's heading to my house. But why? Why would she ... His eyes went wide. The stone! She was gonna use the stone! He cursed to himself, regretting his decision to leave the stone at home. He should have brought it with him.
He quickened his pace, hoping to cut Karyn off before she got there.
