Suddenly, Karyn's face lit up with inspiration.
"I know how to get Sarah to like me! I'll try out for the cheerleading squad!"
Some how, Jon was even more shocked than before. Karyn hated the cheerleaders. Twenty four hours was one thing, but now the potion was forcing Karyn to do things that could affect the rest of the year at least.
"Karyn, wait, you can't do that."
"Why not? Do you think I won't cut it?"
"No-Er, I mean, maybe you could, but...Karyn, listen to what you're saying." Jon gulped. "Don't you kind of think that you're acting...different? I mean, you'd never join the cheerleading squad under...normal conditions."
Karyn's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It's just that...uh...maybe you're taking this Sarah thing too far?" Jon responded, trying to cover for his near slip. He didn't know what would happen if she found out about the potion.
"Ugh. Jon, I never thought you'd be that kind of person. You just dissapprove of our relationship because it's between two girls, don't you? Admit it." Karyn was clearly fuming now.
"What?! No, that's not why-"
"Jon, just shut up, ok?! I'm tired of you trying to come between us. I don't want your help, and I don't need it." With that, Karyn stalked off.
Jon could only gape after her. He hoped the twenty four hours would expire before she did anything stupid. But looking at his watch, he saw that it was five. That was more than enough time for her to try out for the cheerleading squad tomorrow. It seemed he had to find some way to dissuade her before tomorrow. Either that or hope that there were no lingering effects of the potion after it wore off.
Karyn, on the other hand, was far from worrying. As she walked away, her only thought was: Maybe that accidental wish yesterday wasn't so bad. I bet Sarah loves my new hair and breasts. After all, I look a lot like her now.
