"Jon, I ..." She felt like crying. Jon had never talked to her like this. It was as if the ring was making him angry or something. She moved to take the ring off, and noticed that it said Aggressive on it's black surface. Karyn needed to get it off now, but as she reached for it she saw a flash of yellow move with Jon's hand.
"There, you stupid bitch, this probably won't even have an effect on you," Jon snarled at her.
Karyn felt a pleasant haze settle over her mind. She smiled, then frowned as her brain processed what Jon had just said. Why was he being such a big ol' meany? It was like she knew why a minute ago but now every time she tried to think her thought would float away like a big pink bubble. The bubble popped in her mind and she let out a giggle.
"That's right, laugh inanely. Now your mind really matches your tits," Jon was not really mad at her anymore The rush of fear he felt when she grabbed a second ring turned quickly to anger, but now that Karyn was dealt with his aggressive nature turned outward. "With these rings and the stone I can rule this town and get back at everyone who ever wronged me. Maybe I'll keep you around as a trophy girl, you know just to show off how great I am."
For her part, Karyn stopped listening to Jon's rant halfway through the first sentence. He was being so boring, and her mind just floated away on the bubbles. Then he gestured and she noticed a yellow ring on his finger, which totally wasn't his color. She looked down and saw a black ring on her finger, also not her color. Karyn looked at the rings sitting between them, and hoped there was a pink one, that would totally be perfect for her. But there wasn't...she had to count twice to make sure. Jon was rambling something boring about world domination so she took a different color ring...
