Zoe smiled and looked at the inheritance she got from her grandpa. It was a simple wooden wand that could give her anything she desired, even change things and people. All she had to do was wave the wand and picture it and it appeared. So, being the goth girl she is she was using it to aquire more magic. She smiled at all the items of magic in her room. Her ahnk pendant was now a poweful amulet of protection. Her crystal ball gave her real information. Her ouija board actually let her talk to the dead, The occult books on her shelf had real spells in them and she cast nearly every one of them, her earings enhanced her hearing, her rings on her fingers gave her access to spells of many kinds. She even had a sentient raven for a familiar who has magical powers. She smiled and waved the wand picturing a ring that can shoot fireballs when she willed it too, a gold and ornate ring bestudded with brilliant red garnets surrounding a ruby. The ring plinked down on the table, but strangely looked less ornate than she pictured, the stones looked like tinted glass more than real gems. She slipped the ring on her finger and pictured it shooting out a ball of fire. Instead all she did was scream "OUCH!" and toss the ring to the floor, it grew so hot it burned her, glowed red, and melted. SHe went to her magic eightball and asked. "what is happening? what went wrong." the only reply was "answer unclear, try again later." This annoyed her, she made that eight ball real. So instead she went to her crystal ball and asked "oh crystal ball, what is it that is going wrong with my magic." the ball had a ghostly face appear in it in the smoke, but it was even harder to make out than usual. Instead of a deep resonant voice as normal it could only manage a whisper as it said. "all the magic used here, it drains the local magic faster than it can recover, plus a powerful outside souce adds to the drain."
" where is this outside source?" she asked.
"the crystal ball replied by showing a faint image of Jon, then zooming in to a small object held in his hand."
