"You know the guy I work for has enough butlers, so he asked me to be a maid. You know all this, Karyn. Why are you asking all these questions?" Jon asked.
"Um ... never mind. You just go to class. I'll see you later," Karyn said, walking down the hall. She looked over her shoulder and saw Jon shrug his shoulders, then walk down the hall in the opposite direction.
Karyn stopped and looked down at the device. At first, she thought that Jon became dressed like a cheerleader (and then later acted like one) because she had a hidden desire to be on the cheerleading squad. But she had no desire to be a maid. Perhaps the device didn't work the way she thought it did.
She looked down the hall and watched Jon turn a corner and disappear. She knew where his class was. It would be simple to just track him down and use the device on him again. But what if it made him worse, like force him to dress like a hooker or something?
Part of Karyn wanted to try to help Jon now, but another part said to wait. She could just fix all of this after school, whether with the device or with the stone.
