"I don't know," said Amazing Boy. "Why do you want to go on a date with me, anyway? You don't even know me. And you certainly aren't attracted by the idea of a guy fighting crime!"
"Because I think you're attractive yourself," said Sarah. "Even if you're not on the team. Being a superhero is better than being a jock, anyway."
"Fine," said Amazing Boy, not really expecting the girls to still remember him in a couple weeks anyway. "I'll ask you out."
"Which of us?" asked Rebecca.
"That's a secret."
"Okay, then, handsome," said Sarah, and gave Amazing Boy the number.
"So what do we do?" asked Miss Amazing.
"I don't know," replied Amazing Boy. "Your sister is evil and was taken away by a demon. Probably one she works for. We can't find her because she's immune to that..."
"Wait!" said Miss Amazing.
"You have an idea, Jon?"
"Sure," replied Miss Amazing. "We can't find her. But we might be able to find something else. I wish I knew where the home of that demon was, the demon who threw the green lightning we saw today. Ahhh.... I got it! It worked, since I didn't say anything about finding Zoe herself. The demon's in some other dimension. Now, I wish that I can magically make the stone glued to my hand until I want to let it go. Would you like to take a trip, Karyn?"
"To a demonic realm? We don't have any choice, do we. We can't let Zoe take over the world, and it's up to us to stop her!"
"The whole superhero thing's getting to you, Karyn, isn't it?"
"Yeah, I suppose. But I was right, we do need to stop her. I wish that Amazing Boy and I would teleport to that demon's home."
They reappeared inside a cave, dimly lit by some flickering torches. There were spatters of dried blood on the floor, and a human skull with a candle on it stood on a pedestal, yet there were human-type things too; a Coke can, a photo of the demon, even a VCR and DVD player. There was no occupant, but since the demon had died and Zoe had absorbed its power, they weren't expecting an occupant.
Leaving the cave, they found themselves in some kind of eerie-looking forest. Strange things howled in what seemed to be the night, but oddly there was no moon or stars--maybe this realm didn't have one, but maybe the stone couldn't create a realm that was big enough to have a moon and stars.
"There's at least two enemies out there," said Miss Amazing. "First, Zoe, but we don't even know what happened to her. With the way she disappeared, she might just be imprisoned or dead somewhere. Next, this master of hers that that demon yelled about. We know that Zoe's more powerful than us and she's at least immune to our information-gathering and probably our other powers. The demon might be too."
"Maybe we can make it fairer by becoming immune to their powers too," said Amazing Boy.
"Maybe, Karyn. I wish we were protected from the powers of Zoe and her demon lord by as much as we can be protected by a wish. There, I think that's the best we can do."
They climbed a tree and looked around. It was obvious where they had to go--there was a castle not a mile off. Jon and Karyn leaped to the ground and started walking off through the Forest of Fear towards the castle, but when they got there....
