"I don't want to fight you!" yelled Miss Amazing, and gave another order. His/her friend Chad, dressed in a white pawn hat and costume, moved to the last rank of the board. His hat and costume changed from a pawn to a queen's. The magic did nothing for his gender, however.
"You may as well give up now, Queen. Your fight is hopeless." Miss Amazing called out.
"It is not in our nature to give up. Remember, you and I are but chess pieces, and but toys in someone's game."
What is she talking about, Miss Amazing thought. Wasn't this the Queen's spell? But the superheroine had little time to think further, because a flash of blue and yellow ran before her. Amazing Boy! The flash barreled towards the Black Queen, but ran into a force field surrounding her square.
"Tsk, tsk, Amazing Boy. The game has already been set, I am afraid there is no room for you to play."
Karyn glared back at the Queen, but said nothing.
"White Queen," the black said, "if you could, remove the intruder from the board."
NO! Jon though, but her body was not under her control . . .
