Pete touched to rock in his pocket and whispered his wish to try and sort out the problem.
"I wish that Jon liked women, not men" The rock glowed briefly and he looked up at Jon and Karyn. "Hey, what's up?" said Pete, and then he realised that his voice was all wrong. It was more high pitched, more...feminine.
Pete looked down at his body. There were bumps growing out of his chest! Feeling his crotch, he felt nothing, a void where his penis had been. "What's happened?" he screamed.
Jon put his hand on his shoulder. "You feeling okay, Patricia love?"
Pete staggered back. "P..p..patricia?" What had happened? Pete felt into his pocket and grabbed the rock. "Tell me what's happened! Tell me!" realising that he had to form his words as a wish, he repeated his command. "I wish you would tell me what's happened to me!"
He heard a voice in his head.
"I cannot reverse wishes. You wished that Jon was dating you. Then you wished that he liked women and not men. To complete the wish in the manner you intended would have meant me reversing the first wish. The only way I could complete the wish correctly was to turn you into a woman."
"No..no...NO!" shouted Patricia (once Pete) and he turned and ran, stumbling in the shoes which were now a few sizes too big for her, and having to hold her trousers up, which were too baggy.
Karyn looked at her go. "Jon, she's got the stone" she said.
"We've got to catch her!" They ran after her into the woods where she had fled.
