Frustrated, and grumbling to himself, Jon entered in his combination at what was supposed to be Tiffany’s locker but was now his. Sighing, he took in the contents of his new locker. It looked exactly like a girls’ locker should, there was a mirror hanging on the door along with some pictures of him and Karyn. There was even a set of hooks hanging from one of the walls that looked like jewellery would hang from it (but of course, Jon didn’t own any so it was currently empty).
Jon took out the books that he would need for his couple of classes, closed up his locker and made his way towards his first class, Math.
The bell to signify the start of the day rang out just as Jon made it to his classroom. He was one of the first students to arrive, a fact that surprised his teacher.
Mr Henderson looked at his watch and then at Jon.
“Mr Gibson? I must congratulate you, for once you’re actually on time.” Jon rolled his eyes.
“Great,” He thought, “Now I have Tiffany’s reputation for being late to class.”
In the few classes that Jon shared with Tiffany, she was always late to class and sometimes, she never even bothered to show up. While she wasn’t exactly flunking her classes, Tiffany’s grades were well known to be below standard. Tiffany was even known to be taking some remedial classes. Jon wondered if that was going to happen to him.
Jon shook his head. Well, if that was what was going to happen and he couldn’t control the changes, then Jon could at least try and control the results of his wish.
“I’m sorry Mr Henderson, I promise that it won’t happen again.” To Jon’s surprise, Mr Henderson sighed.
“I’d like to believe you, Mr Gibson, I would.” He started. “But you’ve made that promise too many times before.” Mr Henderson took out some papers from his desk before continuing.
“Tell you what,” he looked at Jon. “If you can, for this week, consistently show up on time and contribute to this class. I’ll consider changing your grade on your last assignment. You don’t want another F do you?” He asked.
Jon shook his head.
“No, sir."
The teacher seemed satisfied as he sat back in his seat.
“Good, now go and take your seat while we wait for the other students.”
