Jon looked in horror as the die bounced for a while, before rolling under the bed. Jon tried to reach it but it was agonisingly out of reach.
"Can you see what it's landed on?" asked Karyn.
Jon peered into the gloom. "Nope. I guess we'll find out what it is soon enough."
Karyn put her hand to her head. "I feel strange."
Jon looked at Karyn in amazement. Her arms had filled out, and her legs were straining against her jeans:
Jon looked at Zoe. "Look at you, Zoe!"
Zoe screamed. "What's happened to me!" She still wore the black dress she always did but now she filled it a whole lot better!
But Jon had the most extreme change. His hair turned white, and he grew older. His clothes ripped as the muscles in his arms and legs expanded beyond human limits and by the time he had finished changing, he looked like a giant turtle, made of muscle.
"I can't move!" said Jon, his voice creaky and old sounding.
"What can we do?" said Karyn.
"I don't know about you," said Zoe, "But I could get used to this". She flexed her muscles approvingly.
"Do you think rolling another die will cancel the effects?"
"Do you want to try it?" said Karyn.
"Yes, please" begged Jon. "Anything's better than this."
Karyn picked up a die at random and threw it. "Which die did you pick?" said Jon.
Karyn realised she had not checked, and just picked one. They watched as it slowly landed on the carpet.
