She rolled the die across the floor and it came up as ... joyful.
Karyn was relieved. She thought it might have been something else, something worse. How bad could it be if everyone was happy?
Jon glanced at the clock and said "Karyn, we have to leave for school."
"I like school. I'm glad we're going." Karyn wondered why she made that comment, but then just shrugged it off.
Jon and Karyn grabbed their backpacks and left for school.
