Karyn and Jon walked outside. It was hard for them to walk, especiallly Jon, but they managed. Nobody paid any attention to them, because everyone else had the same problem. They were all varying degrees of pregnancy; someone were only a few months pregnant, one looked like she wasn't pregnant at all--which Jon guessed must have meant she was only a few days pregnant.
They passed a woman with a baby. The woman was pregnant, and the baby's belly seemed to be a little bulging too, but not so much as to be dangerous. If it was allowed to continue it would probably be dangerous, but everything was going to change back after one day.
A policeman walking past had a huge belly, almost as big as Jon's. He didn't act as though there was anything strange about it, and his uniform was tailored to fit his bloated figure.
"I'm tired," said Jon.
"Yeah," replied Karyn. "We only walked a few blocks... but it's not easy walking for a long distance like this."
They returned to Jon's house. They were met by Jon's mother, who said "Jon! We've got to get to the hospital!"
Jon looked at her stomach. She was maybe five months pregnant--nowhere near enough to need hospital treatment. "What? I don't see..."
"Not me! Your brother Mikey! He was in pain all night. I wish he had told us."
Jon, his mother, and Karyn walked into the kitchen where his little brother Mikey was sitting in a chair. He was his usual 8 year old self and looked the same as before, except he was as far pregnant as Jon and he was clutching his stomach. "Mom, it hurts," he said. "And I think I'm leaking...."
"Your water's breaking!" said Jon's mother. "Let me see..." She told Mikey to stand up and took him into the bathroom.
A few minutes later they came out. "He has a temporary vagina," said his mother, "which means the baby's going to be born... Jon, we have to go. I hope we'll be back before the day's over with your new niece or nephew. If you go into labor, call me on your cell phone, okay?"
Jon said, dumbfounded, "Sure, Mom. Umm, Mikey, how did you become pregnant?"
"I don't remember," said Mikey.
"Figures," said Jon.
"You're pregnant too!" said Mikey. "Can you remember how it happened?"
"Uhh," said Jon.
"Don't stand there dillydallying!" said Jon's mother. "You're coming with me, Mikey!"
They left the house, leaving Jon and Karyn alone. Karyn put her hand on Jon's stomach. "I can feel it kicking," she said a minute later. "Just like mine!"
"If you think you can feel it, I feel it a lot worse! But it doesn't matter, it'll all be over tomorrow."
It was late in the evening when Jon's mother and Mikey returned. Mikey had a chocolate cigar in his mouth and was holding a beautiful, though somewhat red, baby that looked a lot like him. He had a harness on his shoulders helping him to carry the baby, which would have been hard for him to manage alone. He was feeding it with a bottle of milk. Jon couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl.
"Mikey couldn't stay at the hospital," said Jon's mother. "There wasn't enough room."
"I guess I should be going, Ms. Donaldson," said Karyn. "Bye!"
Jon's mother waved and Jon went off to his room. The next morning, Jon woke up again, looking at the clock. Then he picked his cell phone off of a table and called Karyn.
"Karyn, it's me," he said. "Do you want me to teleport you here again?"
"Sure."
One wish later, he was with Karyn in his room. "Well, I guess it's going to wear off now," he said.
"Wouldn't Mikey have a problem?" wondered Karyn.
"Mikey? Hmm. Could be. He already gave birth, so he isn't pregnant--it can't reverse for him. Well, we'll find out in a minute."
