Upon entering the kitchen, Jon didn't really see anything out of the ordinary. As usual, his little brother Mikey was busily eating his breakfast cereal and his mom was preparing his lunch for school. Nothing really out of the ordinary.
That was until Sharon (a friend of his mother) walked into the room. Sharon and his mom (Linda) had been close friends since high school. But what was she doing here?
That question didn't take long to get answered, as Jon watched Sharon walk up behind his mom and wrap her arms around his mom's waist. His mom then turned and smiled at her, then kissed her ... on the lips! Jon remembered getting turned on by two girls kissing, but this did nothing for him. But it wasn't the shock of seeing his own mother kissing another woman. He just wasn't attracted to women. Not anymore.
Karyn gasped, grabbing Jon's attention. He turned and saw her panting slightly. "Karyn, are you okay?" he asked.
She looked at him, getting red in the face. "Sorry. It's just that ... your mom and her ... it kind of turned me on. I've never had feelings like that towards a woman before. It's really weird."
"Ready for school, honey?" Jon's mom asked, once she saw that he was there.
"Uh, yeah," he said, holding his backpack over his shoulder. "Um ..."
"Something wrong, dear?" Sharon asked, walking over to him and lovingly (like a mother) placed her hand on his arm.
"Uh ... where's dad?" Jon asked.
Both women looked a little confused, like they weren't sure what he was talking about.
"My father?" Jon asked.
"You mean your paternal procreator?" his mom (Linda) asked.
Is that what they called it?
"How should I know?" his mom asked. She shook her head, dismissing Jon's odd question, then gave Mikey his lunch box.
Right at that moment, Zoe came downstairs, looking just as much like a Goth as before the town turned gay. And without a word, she left the house. She didn't even acknowledge that her mom and Sharon (her other mom?) were even there.
"Well, she hasn't changed," Jon muttered to Karyn.
He watched as Sharon walked back over towards his mom and gave her another kiss. "Wish me luck, honey," Sharon said, then she headed to the front door and left, dressed in a business skirt suit.
Jon and Karyn lingered a moment to see if anything else seemed different, but when nothing else seemed out of the ordinary, they left too. It was already strange seeing his mom kissing another woman and that was just the start. He knew he'd be seeing way more of that behavior at school. Between girls and between guys.
On his way out the door, Jon briefly wondered what happened to his father. Obviously, he wasn't part of the family. So where was he?
