Being made into a girl wasn’t what I expected when I became a superhero, but no way was it stopping me! “I accept your offer, Shazam! I will become Captain Marvel, the Miracle Woman! Now how do I gain my powers!”
“I’m glad you are so accepting, Jon. Now, let me explain how it all works...” said Shazam.
She explained to me a lot of stuff. Firstly, the doorway led to the Rock of Infinity, where any magical power or entity could be found or contacted. Then, she showed me that the magical orb in her chamber actually was able to show whatever was going on in the world I wanted. I even got to see Karen, although she was just making herself a sandwich for lunch. Shazam told me that turning into Captain Marvel would change me into a female super form, which held the abilities of goddesses long passed, which I could channel at will. Selene’s grace, Hippolyta’s strength, Artemis’ skill, Zephyrus’ fleetness and flight, Aphrodite’s beauty and Minerva’s wisdom. I also would be able to channel Shazam’s own ability of the Living Lighting, which would give me super strength, stamina, courage, and magical lightning blast. Shazam then told me that to conserve her remaining power, she would become one with the Rock Of Infinity, basically a comatose state, but I could awaken her if needed.
“And now, Jon,” Shazam said, “it is time.” She reached out her staff to me. “Hold the staff, and say my name! Let the power flow through you, and become Captain Marvel!”
For a moment, I was truly amazed at how the magic stone could do all of this, but I knew I had a job to do. I reached out for the staff, and yelled out the magic word. “SHAZAM!”
