A moment later, to Karyn's utter shock, Jon appeared right in front of her, and right next to Jaime.
"Karyn!" He said, "What the hell happened? Did I black out or something?"
Jaime cleared her throat. "Hi, I'm Jaime, Karyn's best friend. Who are you again?"
Jon furrowed his eyebrows, "I'm Jon, and I'm Karyn's best friend."
"Excuse me? I've known Karyn since we were four. I've never met you."
Karyn did not like where this conversation was heading, and stepped between the two. "Um, let's all just calm down." She looked down to Jaime's hand, where she clenched the rock as if she was trying to squeeze it until it broke. "Uh, could I have the stone?"
"Wait? Does all this have something to do with my wishing stone?"
"Your wishing stone? Buddy, you have some nerve. This is my stone." Jaime replied, pushing Karyn out of the way.
"Wait! Jaime, look, this is really awkward, but you are Jon. Er, were Jon."
"What?"
"Yeah, I made a wish that turned Jon into a girl. Into you, I guess."
"Wait," Jon said, "Did I approve of this?"
Karyn looked to the ground. "No."
Jon shook his head furiously.
"So, what were you going to do with the stone, Karyn? Were you just going to wish me away?" Jaime said, walking toward Karyn, just as angry as Jon. "Am I not your friend, Karyn?"
"No."
"Why not?"
Karyn backed into a wall. "Well, you're pretty mean."
Jaime held up the stone. "Honey, you haven't seen mean yet."
Karyn looked to Jon, "Jon, please, do something!"
But Jon just held up his hands, "Sorry, Karyn, I think you need to learn a lesson."
Jaime grinned, "I wish . . ."
