"Pooper. So, what store do you want to go to now?"
"The bookstore, of course." Karyn replied, heading down the main hall.
"You are so weird." Jaime laughed.
"No, it makes sense. If I go to a clothes store first, I end up blowing all my money on clothes. This way, I get something to do with my time."
"Uhhh, hello. We have a magic stone that gives us whatever we want."
Karyn paused, "Still, it's tradition."
The girls walked into the bookstore and Karyn headed for the fiction stacks. Jaime wasn't too keen on books and decided to look around and see what mischief she might cook up.
"May I help you, miss?" An employee asked. She was short with raven hair and glasses; one of those disgustingly adorable types. Jaime thought she would make a good poster girl. A grin crossed her face.
"I wish you were a poster girl for this store." The employee didn't have the time to react before the stone flashed and she vanished. Posters now portrayed the girl in various fantastic settings, captioned with clichéd sayings, like 'Jumping into a Book is like Jumping into a New World!'
Another thought caught Jaime's mind. She picked up the nearest novel, "I wish Karyn and I were characters in this book."
