The pink smoke started to fill up the room, but Jon found himself surrounded by some kind of forcefield. For his part, the Wild-Card couldn't figure out why exactly his evil device.
"You two-bit baffoon," the older Jon said with a grin. "The reason you couldn't find the stone in the future is cause it no longer exists. I absorbed all of its power into myself. I became one with the rock. The fact of the matter is Mr. "I'm so cool cause I can jump through time," is that all your little magical items are pathetic compared to my limitless power!" With that, the pink smoke dissipated, sucked into the ventilation system and dispersed outside into oblivion. The older Jon then materialized something out of mid-air and flung it straight at the wild card, which hit him in the chest.
"What did you do that for?" The Wild-Card said.
"Take a look at what you're wearing now," the elder Jon said with a smirk. The Wild-Card looked down, and groaned, as he saw the famous Medallion of Zulo now draped across his neck.
"Oh shit," he said in an ever higher-pitched voice as he became a she. With a sigh she gathered her stuff and snarled at the older Jon. "This isn't over," she yelled, before heading off in another flash of light.
"That was....weird," the younger Jon said.
"Yes will," the older Jon returned, wiping the dust from his impressive evil-looking uniform, "I've seen it done thousands of times, so I should think I know how to deal with it."
"What do you mean?"
"Like I said, I'm you from the future. The culimnation of your training and your power. Like you I was once small-minded and weak, barely scratching the surface of what this rock you have could do. But, in time, I learned how to harness its full power, and eventually I learned that I didn't need the rock anymore, I was the power. And, now, as was done with me, your future self has come back in time to teach you how to use this power. After your training is complete, so will it fall to you to teach the next Jon, and so on and so on and so on."
Jon was amazed at this, he guessed he could've just wished the power into himself to begin with. 'Screw this guy,' he thought, and he prepared to wish him away.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," the future Jon said. "Absorb that much power and it will destroy you."
Somehow, Jon knew that his future self was right.
"Now, follow me, we have work to do."
