Looking through the notes, Sarah realized why John was feeling so overwhelmed by his invention. Apparently, in his excited haste to invent his "Empathizer", he had overlooked the fact that the embedded chip would be drawing electrical energy from his brain, as well as its own internal power source. No wonder he was having such a bad reaction to it.
Sifting through the notes, Sarah also realized that with some small adjustments, she could fashion her own Empathizer that wouldn't be overwhelming as John's was. An Empathizer 2.0, if you will. But would she really be willing to use it on herself, as John had? And wasn't it more important right now to search for John? He could be in serious trouble.
Little did she know, she was both right and wrong at the same time. Yes, John had managed to fully lose himself, but at the same time, he wasn't really in trouble ... except for the unending humiliation he might feel after he got his senses back and realized that he had dressed and behaved like a sorority girl in front of the whole school.
