Lauren looked at the classroom full of students before her and with all the authority she could manage said asked “Who knocked over the chair.”
None of the students answered her. She was about to ask them again when the bell went off signifying the end of the lesson. After a minute of silence waiting for an answer to her question she turned from the door and let the students leave the room.
She kneeled to pick up the chair that had made the noise that had stopped her talking to Lonna. “Lonna” she said out loud and went back to trying to figure out how she was now a teacher and her teacher was now a student in her stead.
