Cecil Lansdale breathed the cool night air as he briskly strolled through the streets. It was a wonder to be so young and full of life again, no it was more than that, it was a sign! Good fortune had given Cecil a second chance at life, and now the blood of youth flowed through his veins he wanted to try all those things he'd never had the opportunity for the first time around.
Cecil paused at a shop window and stared at his reflection. He now looked as he was when he was a very young man, certainly not much older than 21, but while it was a vast improvement over his 70-something appearance the day before, he certainly wasn't what he would consider to be handsome. The reality of this dawned on him. He may be young again, but those wonderful and new opportunities would pass him by for the exact same reasons they did when he was first 21 years old!
Clearly, he couldn't let this stand. Cecil didn't regain his youth simply to go through the same 50 years of failure all over again, he needed to change!
Quite by chance, Cecil found himself near the entrance to the town's park where the old wishing well was situated. He recalled the latest wish he'd made at that well previously, the one that had come true, and he wondered if it would happen again.
The park was deserted on a cool night like this, so Cecil walked casually up to the wishing well without interruption. He looked about warily before taking a coin from his pocket, He secretively dropped it into the well and began to wish...
