"The well! The well granted my wish!"
Mr. Lansdale ran down the street waking up many of the residents, including Jon's family. Most who saw him merely wondered what on earth young Cecil Lansdale was on about (since the nature of the wishing rock, and the by extension the well, made everyone who hadn't heard the wish think he'd always been that way).
Some even heckled him, telling him to go back to home to his (70-year old!) wife.
Jon however, knew exactly what he was talking about, even though he had no idea what the young man had wished for.
Cecil moved on into the night, and everyone forgot about it and went back to their beds...
