"It has been confirmed, the primary subject has left" Said the Main researcher

"Blast....Oh-well no point crying over spilt milk. Send out the rogue file to pick up the artefact." was the reply of the second researcher

"That's not for us to decide, it depends on the fabric code, how it was altered and who the file meets to guide it."

"Excuse me, how does the rogue file work?" said a researcher from a different section, who was assigned in this one for extenuating circumstances.

"The virus has adapted in so far as create an immunity to us, but in turn had to create a poison to itself. Have you even heard that term where the way to fix a deadly poison is to find a deadlier poison that you know how to cure, take it and then take the anti-venom?"

"Uh... no?"

"He is just over complicating things. Earth 1414's primary inhabitant, the one that affects everything in that testing stream has vanished so in his absence the code has to fix itself and it does so by removing him from everything, but in turn there are some fragments that just revolve too much around him. Instead of being deleted outright they are "bandaged". The Bandaged mostly have no recollection of the primary, aside from vague small details. There are one or two inhabitants in each infected earth stream that cannot be completely rewritten and have to be bandaged, these are the secondary inhabitants, the ones the primary inhabitant interacted most with. The code willingly corrupts them, so they can sort themselves out, we call this rogue code."

"I vaguely understand it now but why is this a good thing for us."

"In most rogue file cases, the inhabitants obtain disorders or lose there minds, but in some, a unique abnormality occurs. Another rogue file from a different Earth stream comes to the assistance of the secondary inhabitant through the rift. Thus helping them escape from their inevitable doom."

"I still don't understand why its good for us?"

"Well how would you feel if your best friend abandoned you when you were on the verge of going madness, only to find out that he is now pally with your worst enemy and has forgotten all about you?"

"I'd be pissed"

"Indeed. A semi crazy teenager filled with potential disorders and an obsession for the new 'team' bordering on hatred assisted by a different insane megalomaniac rogue file who can utilise the the rifts however they wish."

"That sounds familiar, have I seen it on a TV show?"

"Indeed you have, our network's highest rated show, Rifted apart. How did you think we came up with all the stuff that happens on that show?"

"Ah, I see. So even if it does not fix the problem itself, it does provide a huge source of entertainment for us."

"See, its just as I said, curing poison with another poison"

"Uhh...I still think you are nuts.."

"No, the first poison to the virus was us, the second poison was the rogue file and the anti-venom are the primary subjects."

"Hey do you think that this guy was a Crazy Secondary too?"

Hahahahha. "Good one. Imagine that, the virus affecting our world too, you crack me up."

Hheheheheh

"Yeah well fuck you guys. I'm not helping you again any-time soon."

"Hey man, no need to be so toxic"

HAHAHHAHAHAHHA
