Karyn left the store and saw that another police car had shown up. One of the cops made his way towards Karyn. "Officer," he paused to read the name on Karyn's uniform. "Black, is there a problem here?"
"What do you mean?"
"Your car is unattended and your lights are on," he said, referring to the emergency lights atop the car.
"Everything is okay," Karyn said, and then making up something that sounded police-like "It was just a false-alarm."
"Uh huh. Who are your two perps?" he asked, pointing at the backseat of the car.
"Um. Just some kids."
"What was the charge?"
Karyn didn't like being questioned like this. "Listen, I'm in a hurry here. I can't stand around and satisfy your curiosity."
