"I wish that Karyn was my Ballerina-Dollie." The stone flashed once more, and Karyn found herself wearing a pink leotard and tutu, white tights and gloves, and pink lace up ballet slippers. Her hair was done up and crowned with a tiara. But that wasn't the strangest part, which was that Karyn was only the size of a doll now. In fact, she realized as she looked at herself, she WAS a doll: a little stuffed one, at that.
And the girl who had just changed her jumped up and down in joy. "Yay! Now it's time to play!" the girl reached forward and tried to grab Karyn. The ballerina stumbled back from the giant hand.
"Hey! I don't want to play!" The toy ran toward her owner's bed and dove beneath it. The girl was right behind her. Karyn curled into a ball and tried to stay out of reach of the girl's outstretched arm. But her owner was small enough and easily able to pull herself beneath the bed.
Her giant, pudgy hand came at Karyn once more. Backed into a corner, facing a much larger enemy, something primal kicked inside Karyn and she lashed out with her legs, trying to hurt her tormentor. But the girl just grabbed the flailing appendages and yanked Karyn out from beneath the bed.
"That wasn't very nice, Karyn. Don't you want to play with me?"
"How do you know my name? Who are you?" Karyn shouted.
The girl was perplexed. "I'm Kelly, Jon's little sister."
"Jon? Who -" Karyn started, but was interrupted with a knock on the door.
"Kelly, are you ready to bed?" The girl spun around. She looked at the toys in her room, all moving and talking. She looked at her two new toys.
She didn't know what to do, and the door was opening. . .
