"It's perfectly safe, Karyn," said Jon. "What could possibly have happened differently this week just because Zach never stole our test grades?" He slipped the notebook from his backpack and opened it up to the wish, then ripped the sheet out and tore it up. Things shimmered.
Then Karyn saw what had changed. She pointed at Jon and said "That could."
Jon looked down at himself and saw that although he was still his usual male self, he had a set of breasts that were even bigger than Karyn's wished-up ones. He grabbed them with his hands. They were like melons! "How did this happen?" Jon asked, hysterically.
"You must have made a wish to give yourself breasts," Karyn said.
"Well, that's obvious! But why? What could have made me want to do this to myself?"
"Maybe it was an accident." She paused. "I told you not to tear that page out."
"That's it! I can tear the page out that gave me breasts." Jon flipped through the binder and found the wish. Just like what Karyn thought, it did seem like it was an accidental wish. He was about to tear it out, when Karyn stopped him.
"Maybe you shouldn't."
"Are you crazy? I'm not staying like this."
"What if tearing out that page changes reality so that you made an even worse wish instead?" Karyn asked.
"Well ... I'd just tear that page out too."
"But what if you can't? What if we die or something else really horrible happens to us? Having breasts doesn't seem so bad in comparison."
Karyn had a point. But Jon really didn't want to live the rest of his life with giant breasts. What should he do?
