Charles made it three blocks. It was a glorious sunny day, and life was perfect. He didn't have a care in the world. So, when two beefy men reached out from a dark alley he was passing and hauled him off his feet and roughly to the ground by a dumpster, it rather shattered his mood.
"Huh? Wha...?" he stammered. "What's going on?" He peered up at his attackers nervously, although they were just standing over him. No further violence was forthcoming. Not just a straightforward mugging, then.
All became clear when a third figure came into view between the two men. She was scrawny, dressed in a baggy sweatshirt and faded jeans, no more than 15 years old, she didn't cut a very imposing figure, even with the hair shaved close to her head. She looked most displeased.
Charles' eyes went wide. "How? You... it's impossible."
The girl sneered. "Did you honestly think you'd just get away with it, Charlie? Steal my life and my money and think I'd just let you walk away and leave me like this? Charles stared back in panic, eying up the two burly bodyguards. He was beaten and he knew it. He doubted he'd survive this encounter after what he'd done to his assailant. "What do you want, Archer?"
"What do I want?" The girl's voice rose in volume with anger. "I want my fucking life back. I want my fucking dick back!"
Charles grimaced. "Now, you know I never meant for you to end up in that body. It was just bad luck."
"Shut it. Give me the medallion. NOW!"
"I can't. I gave it away."
"You're lying. Give it to me now. Search him."
The left-hand grunt suddenly advanced on Charles and roughly felt in his pockets. Finally letting him go, he shook his head at the girl, who frowned. "Where is it?"
"I told you I gave it away! I know it's hard for someone like you to understand that, but I was done with it."
Archer's face was now red with frustration and anger. "When and where?"
Charles thought about lying, but maybe if he cooperated, he might just get out of this alive. He pondered a moment, then looked up at the girl and opened his mouth...
