Jon walked as slow as he could down the stairs, to try and delay the inevitable. But by the time that he had gotten to the bottom of the stairs, Jon was made up beautifully, with lovely red lipstick. His nails were long and dainty, with bright nail varnish on them, and he was wearing large hooped earrings.
Jon walked into the kitchen. His mom turned to face him.
"That's better, Jon. Now you look like a proper girl. Why don't you ring Karyn and get her to come round to see how pretty you look?"
Jon frowned. Something was definitely wrong!
What had happened was that Karyn had walked past the store fronts, and wished for beautiful make up, lovely nails and earrings, and then caught her reflection in the shop window. "I wish that everyone would accept me for who I am and not think that I am different in any way." So, naturally, Jon's mother thought that him to be wearing what he was wearing was perfectly normal for Jon.
Jon was confused. But things were going to get a lot worse before they got better, because Karyn stopped and looked into the next window...
