"Okay, I wish, that for the next hour Jon would act exactly like his mother."

"Karyn, wha-" was all that Jon could get out of his mouth before the flash came, and then there was silence.

When Karyn's eyes had recovered from the flash that had emanated from the wishing rock she found herself alone in Jon's room. Jon was nowhere to be found.

"Uh oh," she mumbled, fighting back panic.

Jon found himself sitting in a dark room. At the other end, a large screen was illuminated with a series of graphs and charts. He heard a voice droning, "And as you can see, projections for the next quarter are fairly strong. It seems we are weathering this economic storm and may actually come out ahead."

Jon wanted to look around, to find out where he actually was, but found himself compelled to continue looking at the screen, studying the graphs carefully. He felt a draft on his legs, which made him realize that they were crossed at the knee. Jim was incredibly confused, but for some reason he could not even begin to express the panic he was feeling.

After a minute, the lights came up, and Jon was able to connect the dots. He recognized the office, and some of the people around the room. They were his mom's coworkers, and this was the conference room at the office where his mother worked. He was able to move his eyes to the left, where he saw his mother in the seat immediately next to him. She was wearing one of here stylish business suits, and Jon noticed she was sitting in the exact same pose he felt himself in. His moved his eyes downward, and found himself in a suit identical to his mother's. Jon now realized what was going on. Karyn had wished that he'd act like his mother for the next hour, and now he was mimicking her every move. It was pretty freaky, but thanks to the wish he was unable to freak out. He was at least comforted by the fact that it would all be over in an hour.

The meeting ended and Jon stood up. It was the strangest feeling, somehow the movements felt like they were his own, but he knew he was at the mercy of the movements of his mom, and she and everyone else in the room seemed to conveniently ignore the strangeness of this fact. A woman walked over to them, Jon recognized her as Janet, one of his mom's work friends.

"Hey, Linda. I'm surprised Davis' droning didn't put you to sleep."

"Oh, I know," Jon found himself saying, his voice blending perfectly with his mom's. "Say, that's a nice blouse." Jon couldn't believe how exactly he matched her tone and cadence.

"Thanks. Hey, why don't we go shopping after work."

"Sounds wonderful. I've been meaning to pick up a few things." Jon and Linda walked in unison, alongside Janet as they left the conference room. Jon could only hope that the hour would pass quickly.
